At the beginning of our trip we were told we had a “fun day” our last day in Costa Rica. Our team got to chose from 3 different things to do on that day. We chose the trip to the jungle.
We left early in the morning and drove through the cloud forest which was really cool. They told us that is where the movie Jurassic Park was filmed. Then we stopped along the way and saw monkeys, sloths, crocodiles, poisonous frogs, and all kinds of other cool things along the road. They gave us plenty of time to take pictures of all the cool stuff we found.

We stopped at a banana plantation and dove by a pineapple plantation. It was really fun to see the process from start to finish at the banana plantation.

While we were watching I was able to hold this little creature called a rhino beetle. I wasn’t scared until it clamped onto my hand and started squeezing it and then water gushed all over my hand from it. I admit it. I freaked out.

Then we went on to the boat that took us down the river which met up to the Caribbean Sea.

There we got out of the boat right beside some small crocs that were bathing on the sand. (seriously) and walked into the jungle. Here is some proof for those that think I am exaggerating.
This Cayman Croc was running from me. I was standing on the sand taking a picture of it.

They told us we had a perfect day for the jungle. He said only about 5% of the tours get the actual jungle rains and we did. It poured on us the whole way through.

A jungle leaf - They taught us how to take close up pictures. Something I wished I had learned on the first day instead of the last day in Costa Rica.
When we walked out of the jungle we were on a Caribbean beach. It was black sand from volcanic ash. It was beautiful to me. I was in awe the whole day.

All prepared for a picture and a wave slapped us on the back.
After our adventure we had to drive back down the mountain through the cloud forest again in the pouring rain. It was scary to put it nicely. The van driver was hilarious and kept us laughing but I am pretty sure it was 0% visibility outside. It didn’t slow him down one little bit.
We stopped at a McDonalds on the way back the our bed and breakfast that night to eat. We were really excited about this after a week of having rice at every meal. It tasted better than McDonalds had ever tasted to me before.
