Yucky Germfest

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

We have the sick bug again. This time Micah and Evan have the crud. They have high fevers, coughs, tummy aches, and headaches. Evan started puking last night which was really fun. He is terrified of puking. Micah has been sick since Saturday and he puked tonight, too. It doesn’t appear to be the tummy bug, but they throw up when they have a high fever. Molly is sick also, but is on a new strain this time. She had this high fever bug a few weeks ago.

Maggie and Eli are doing great still. When I woke up this morning Eli was marching around the house with Evan’s puke bucket on his head so we will see how long he stays well.

I could count on one hand how many times Evan has been sick in his life. He almost never catches anything that goes around. I am glad because it is aweful trying to get that boy to take medicine. Thanks to Tylenol Meltaways we finally have found something he will take to get his fever down. That poor little boy is having a rough time.

I have had enough of winter now. This is what I get for taking them to the YMCA child watch so they were nice and exposed to every sickness going around.

Eye Update

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

Eli had an eye appointment today to follow up on his surgery. The doctor thinks his eyes are looking really good and I agree. She said they were looking like they would be perfectly straight. I had been warned that sometimes it takes 2 surgeries to get them perfectly aligned. For right now they are good enough that we don’t have to start patching again either. We also had expected to have to get his lenses changed after surgery, but so far she is going to leave them the same. She was very happy with how his eyes are looking and so am I.

Right now he doesn’t even act like he needs his glasses to see. He seems to be just fine without them since his surgery. It is obvious that the main need for his glasses was the weak eye. She will check him again in six weeks.

Something wacky has happened with the way Internet Explorer renders the code for our Google videos. Many of you were not able to view our previous video of Eli singing. So, you can either start using Mozilla Firefox, Netscape, or Opera, or if you insist on using the anitchrist’s browser, Internet Explorer, click below…
