It was 70 degrees outside today so we had to make a trip to the park. Molly enjoyed her first time in the swing and she also enjoyed her first time going down the slide. Maggie was so excited that Molly got to play that she drug her all over the playground.

Molly wasn’t too sure about this slide.

Every time Molly would swing foward she would say “Weeeeeeee!”

And here is the storm moving in.

We have had bad thunderstorms all evening. It is hailing outside right now and I just heard that part of interstate 35 is closed down because there is 3 feet of water sitting on it in places. Tomorrow it is supposed to snow again, but at least we got to enjoy a beautiful day outside today.

The Party

We had a birthday party for Maggie last night. One thing about Maggie’s birthday is that it ALWAYS rains on her birthday. The day she was born it was raining and it has rained almost every birthday since then. That makes it fun for a last minute preparer like myself. I get to run all my errands in the pouring rain.

The kids all had a fun time. There was plenty of sugar inhaled which made for a late night.

Maggie Turns 8

Eight years ago tonight my dream of having a baby finally came true. Damon and I were blessed with a little baby girl.

My due date was February 21. I went into labor during the night of the 23rd and we finally went to the hospital at 8:00 in the morning on the 24th. After 13 more hours of labor Maggie was finally born. She weighed 7 lb 12 oz, my smallest baby.

Today she is 8 years old and is very quickly turning into a young lady.

Happy Birthday, Maggie. We love you.

The Zen of Spinning

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

I raced to nowhere today. Literally. It was the 9th annual Race To Nowhere, a spin-bike competition to raise money for the Mid America MS Achievement Center, which provides therapeutic services for those with progressive forms of Multiple Sclerosis. It was pretty crazy. You spin at zero resistance for 30 minutes–as fast as you can. I went 21.40 miles, which means I averaged over 42 mph. Not too bad, eh?

Molly is 11 months old today. Maggie is so excited that she is growing up and can’t wait to share a room with her. Molly is always hanging around Maggie while Maggie is trying to do her schoolwork and tries her hardest to steal and take off with Maggie’s pencil. She thinks pencils are pretty cool since her big sister has one in her hand all the time. Maggie tells me every day that she thinks Molly is the cutest thing in the world and she is so glad she is her sister. It is so fun to watch them together. Maggie prayed and waited a long time for this.
