New Shades

Friday, August 31st, 2007

We have to torture Eli some more. He had another eye appointment today. Even though we have been patching his eye as much as possible, they are not seeing any change in his vision. Patching is really hard with a 3 year old. It is a huge ordeal to get it on him. He can’t see with it on. His eyes hurt. His eyes itch. etc. etc. He tries to be good and leave it on, but finally can’t take it anymore and just rips it off.

So, the new plan is to put a drop in his good eye every morning. The drop will dilate his eye and will make everything blurry. This way he will not rely on his good eye. It will make the bad eye have to work and will hopefully strengthen it.

I bought him a pair of clip on sunglasses for when he has to go outside. His eye will pretty much be dilated all the time.

He was pretty excited when I showed him his new shades. He wanted to wear them all day. He thinks he looks just like his daddy now.

Miss Molly

Most of my pictures seem to be of little Molly. I guess it is because she is always right beside me. No matter what I am cleaning or what I am doing… she is right there helping me or watching me. Here are a few pictures I took this week.

Molly riding her little lamb. She sits on it and scoots around the house.

She loves giving kisses, especially to her stuffed animals.

She has figured out that if she drags this stool around the house she can get to anything she wants. Here she was caught in the act cleaning up Eli’s leftovers after lunch.

Molly still has a thing with her hair. It is kind of weird, but it keeps her happy. When she is tired she grabs her hair with her fingers and then feels the strand of hair with her middle finger. She has it perfected so well that if she can’t get to the bangs she will do it with the back of her hair. Sometimes if both hands are available she will do it with the front and back at the same time. I decided I had better get a picture of it before she stops doing it.

The New Look

Friday, August 24th, 2007

We are slowly getting the house put back together. Right now my project is sorting toys. I have all of the toys from the house in the garage and am organizing and throwing odd pieces out. That is lots of fun with Eli and Molly’s help.

I love the new carpet. It is dark enough that we won’t have to worry about stains showing up easily. The stair carpet is great. I don’t think it will ever show stains. It is perfect for the many pitter pattering feet in our home.

Here are some pictures of some of the rooms that are completely put back together. We still have work to do in 2 bedrooms and the downstairs.

Squatter

Just another example of why little boys weren’t made to sit in school all day.

We always start school at the kitchen table. Then after we work out there for awhile I send them to the desks in their room to finish their work. When I went to check on Micah I found him like this. I asked him why he wasn’t sitting on the chair he told me because this is much more comfortable.

Home Again

Monday, August 20th, 2007

We are home again. Our house is a mess, but we have new carpet. Yay! I have been waiting for this day since we moved in 5 years ago. Right now it is basically like we just moved in. Everything we own is in tubs or bags. I can’t unpack from the trip because all the dressers are in the garage. I have quite the mess right now. The kids are loving all the open space to run around in, though.

I took Maggie to the doctor this morning. She had terrible ear pain all night Friday night. Ever since then she has had stuff draining out of that ear. She has a hole in her eardrum. It ruptured and that is why she is having all the drainage. Poor thing.

I am patiently waiting for Damon to get home from work so we can move more furniture.
