Baby Hemi’s First Photo Shoot

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

Daddy Jeremy is in Iraq and hasn’t been able to see his beautiful daughter yet. I took a bunch of pictures tonight and am going to put them on the internet so he and any of you that would like to see them can look. I have to share a few pictures now just in case he gets the chance to look tonight.

She is beautiful, Jeremy and Brandi. Congratulations!

It’s A Hit

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

A lady from Mops heard about Eli’s eye problems and felt just terrible for him. She brought me a huge tub of beans for him to play in. She thought it would be something for him to play with that wouldn’t require his sight as much and just touch. It has kept him and Molly busy all morning. I just put all kinds of gadgets in it and it is just as fun as a sand box.

It is not going to be fun if the beans get into the carpet. They match into the carpet perfectly. We will see how excited I am about this new toy by the end of the day.

MOPS

Monday, September 24th, 2007

MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. It is basically a support group for mothers with young children at a very isolating time during their lives. It can also be a really good outreach and support to single moms, military moms, and moms that don’t have family near and feel alone during those years with toddlers. The groups meet at churches usually a few times a month.

A few months ago I was asked if I would be on the steering team for a MOPS group that was going to be starting at our church. It is the first MOPS group to start in our town. I almost said no, but decided to give it a try and see how it went. A week after I agreed to the position, I was asked if I would want to go to Orlando to the MOPS convention. YES! That didn’t take much thought since the church was paying for the trip.

So, on Thursday, one other lady and I took off for Orlando early in the morning after only 4 hours of sleep. Thats about the most sleep I have gotten a night since. I get more sleep at home with kids than I did at the convention. We stayed very busy.

There were about 5,000 other moms at the conference. It was at an absolutely beautiful convention center called Gaylord Palms. There were actually alligators swimming around in the hotel.

They had awesome worship time, speakers, entertainment, and workshops. We also managed to make time for going to Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, and Epcott in the evenings. I came back exhausted, but had so much fun. We are already trying to figure out how to take a big group next year.

I Am Coming Home, Kiddos

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

I am at the Orlando airport waiting to get on the big jet that will take me home to see you.

I went to Disney World and saw Cinderella’s Castle last night. I tried chasing down Snow White to get a picture for you, Maggie. I don’t think I got a good picture because there were too many little girls trying to see her. I did get pictures of Cinderella’s castle for you, though. I can’t wait until I can take you to see it for real. You would love it.

I miss you Maggie, Micah, Evan, Eli, and Molly. I can’t wait to see you.

Love,

Mommy
