Thanks to some Lanker hand-me-downs my boys finally look tough.

My Super Strong Boys
Monday, March 30th, 2009Breakfast in Bed
Monday, March 30th, 2009At 7:30 this morning Eli came and crawled in bed with me. It woke me and I immediately sat up and started sniffing. I asked Eli what I smelled. He said that it wasn’t him I smelled. Ha! Then the rest of the kids walked in with breakfast for me. They did it all on their own. Maggie is starting to love to cook. After I ate my breakfast she went and made breakfast for the rest of the kids.
The Snow Storm
Saturday, March 28th, 2009This afternoon the freezing rain finally switched over to snow. The kids were going in and out of the house all day long. I just kept reminding myself that this would surely be the last time to go though this until next winter so I let them have their fun. I will do the laundry later.
I couldn’t keep up with Eli. He loved the snow and was outside most of the day with a new outfit each time he would head back out. At dinner time when I took his boots off I found that he hadn’t worn socks all day. He kept me laughing all day.
This snow had better melt fast because I have a garage sale this Wednesday.
Here are some pictures of the kids having fun.

Maggie’s snowman family - She was trying for our whole family until Eli and Molly started helping her and knocked over a couple of snowmen.

When Molly had had enough outside we brought the outside to the table and she had a snow feast.
The Ice Storm
Saturday, March 28th, 2009The worst of the storm missed us. My parents got 18 inches of snow and we got a huge ice storm and about 2 inches of snow on top of it. The kids had a blast with it, though. And I am just glad it will be in the 60’s this week so it will all melt and we can get on with spring.
I packed away all the coats this past week so it was slim pickin’ for the kids to find anything warm to wear outside. They seemed to manage just fine. Eli was out the door this morning in his spring clothes to go pick icicles to eat. He made sure to put a pair of socks on his hands for gloves.
He soon realized it was a little bit to cold for such summery clothes so he headed in for a change of clothes. Then he was back at the icicle hunt.
The net to our trampoline began to rip. If you look real closely you will see that it didn’t rip in a very easy way to fix. Damon quickly went out and took the rest of it down before the whole thing ripped. The kids are so excited that they might get to try out jumping without a net. yikes!
And after the kids were finally satisfied with the amount of icicles they found they headed inside for an icicle feast.
And then the snow began to fall.
to be continued…
Bits From This Week
Friday, March 27th, 2009Damon has been at a youth conference in San Diego this week. He is getting on his flight to come home tonight. We are hoping the weather doesn’t mess up his flight plans. There is supposed to be up to 12 inches in some areas around here.
The week actually went really fast for me. I got this new little toy that has been extra nice while Damon was gone. We could text each other back and forth anytime. It came in really handy while he was sitting in conference sessions all week. I am spoiled.
The kids marathon just got rescheduled until next week because of the storm moving in. I am personally glad that I don’t have to get up at the break of dawn tomorrow in the frigid weather. I feel bad for the marathoners that trained for it though. I had thought about doing it at one time. It was just a fleeting thought and then it left.
I had some decluttering moments this week while Damon was gone. Check this out.
That is right. My island is cleaned off. Having our school day in our kitchen is really rough on the island. It is usually covered with junk. I just can’t help it. There is no where else to put stuff. Well, school is out for the summer and the island is cleaned up.
Actually, Maggie has a few more days of History. She took a computer course in History and Science this year and was going to finish this week until the computer broke down. Our computer man wasn’t here to fix it so she has had to wait.
What does she do when she doesn’t have school work to do, you ask? She and the boys built the worlds largest indoor tent house. That is right. While I am cleaning up one area of the house they are trashing another.
Since it is freezing and icy outside this week I allowed Eli and Molly to bring their “motorcycles” in the house this week. Well, actually I found them riding them in the house and allowed them to keep them in the house.
I realize Molly is way old enough to be out of her crib, but she loves it. I love it, too. This is the first time I haven’t been forced to move a baby out of their crib by 18 months. I will move her out of it this summer when she moves in with Maggie. But for now I love it. It confines her at naptime.
Anyway, she has gotten really good at pulling everything off the floor into her bed during the night. I have to be careful what I leave near her bed at night. I found her like this yesterday.
And Evan just came in and had nearly cut his finger off with a kitchen knife while trying to cut one of his toys. I guess I had better go check and see what the rest of the brood is up to. Oh, and I just got a text from Damon… He is on his plane.
