Maggie’s New Hobby
Thursday, May 28th, 2009Aunt Dawn brought a sewing machine for Maggie when they visited. She also had bought an easy pattern for a little purse. We went to the store and let Maggie pick out some material. Dawn then coached Maggie through sewing the bag. Maggie loved it. Before the end of the week Maggie completed her first sewing project. I am sure there will be many more to come.
Watching her brought back memories of when I learned to sew as a kid. I had a pattern for a pair of shorts. I used all of my moms old sheets and made pair after pair of the shorts and wore them all the time. 
To the Farm Again

On Friday we went to the Deanna Rose Farmstead with Travis and Dawn and their girls. Right after we got there all my brothers and sisters showed up with their families, too.
The kids had fun fishing, feeding the goats, riding ponies, and seeing all of the animals. Evan caught 8 fish in about a half hour. They were tiny little fishies but the boys don’t care a bit about their size. Eli thought they were pretty cool and liked spinning them in circles and throwing them back into the water.
Feeding the baby goats little bottles was a favorite for the little girls…
