Monday was Eli’s big birthday #6.

This boy brings so much joy to our lives. He never lets us quit laughing for long. We love you, Eli. Happy Birthday!

They don’t seem to care…
I have these a lot. I have decided I need to start writing them down. Since this is the only place I write things down I am going to do it here. I have a few emotional ones to write down from this past year, but I will start with one from last night.
I was getting ready to do my 11 mile run. It was pouring rain outside. I am committed to our training group so had decided that if they were going to run then I was going to run. On the way over to drop off my water at the water stop I prayed and asked God to please let the rain stop for our run and to please even let the sunshine come out for a little bit.
Thirty minutes later we started running with a 90% chance of rain. The rain stopped right as we were gettingĀ into our run. While we were running through the neighborhood where I had been driving when I had prayed earlier the clouds separated and the sun (which has not shown in days) came through and was shining down on us for a few minutes as bright as can be. It was really cool and I thanked God for once again reminding “oh me of little faith” that he hears me when I pray.
Eli: “Oh that feels gooder”
Eye Tech(knowing I home school him): “Oh, you must go to public school.”
Eli: “No, I go to home school”

Our newest way to pack. Perfect!

Ahhh! Togetherness.

how we did our meals

You get the idea…
It actually went really well. Almost ZERO forced stops for potty breaks. Only one pee in the ditch break other than our meal and gas stops. Not bad! Thankfully, I found our DS games before the trip and we had 2 extras loaned to us for the trip so everyone was happy.
Melissa sent the kids the cutest little van care packages before we left. The kids loved them, Melissa. Thank you! I think maybe Eli needed some pink sleeping shades, too.
More pictures to come…
