Our one main outing for the week was to Shell Island. It is an undeveloped island where you are free to take whatever you find home with you. There are no bathrooms on the island. I know, kind of a risky choice for our family.

So, we boarded a shuttle and headed out to the island for the day.

They ditched us at the island and it was so so hot out there.

That is alright because we are by the ocean and we can swim and keep cool, right?

Oh no! What is lurking in the water all along the shore? Is it safe to enter the water? Who knows, but we are all to scared to try.

So, we plant our little umbrellas in the sand and start to hunt for seashells.

We find so many cool seashells that we can barely get them all home with us at the end of the day. Don’t you worry, we took about 20 buckets so we were prepared.

Then we find this cool little pool of water off the main water where the kids can keep cool. Praise the Lord for this. No sting rays in this water!

Then the kids decide that we need to take home 9 hermit crabs. One for each of them. But then the daddies decide they have to leave them on the island so they walk their little selves right back into the water, shell and all. Their lives have been spared.

Then we finally board the shuttle to head back at the end of the day. Very burnt and very tired.
